WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) voted to advance H.R. 26, the Protecting American Energy Production Act. The bill, which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 226-188, prohibits any federal moratorium on the use of hydraulic fracturing. The bill also stops future presidents from banning fracking without the consent of Congress. Rep. Mann released the following statement after the vote.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) voted to advance H.R. 27, the Halt All Legal Trafficking of (HALT) Fentanyl Act, which permanently classifies fentanyl and related substances as a Schedule I drug. According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, in 2023, 70% of overdose deaths in the U.S. involved a synthetic opioid like fentanyl.
