Agriculture is the heartbeat of the Big First District and America. The Big First ranks number one in congressional districts in wheat, beef, and sorghum production.
Every human life is precious, and every child is worthy of life and protection from harm. I firmly believe that life begins at conception, and unborn children should be afforded the same natural and God-given rights as all other living persons. I support community-based facilities like pro-life pregnancy centers that work tirelessly to provide quality care to both women and children.
The Second Amendment is a load-bearing wall of our Constitution. If you weaken a load-bearing wall, you damage the structure, and the entire building can come crashing down. That is why I am proud to support legislation that upholds the Second Amendment rights of the American people. We can no longer sit idle and watch Washington Democrats attempt to strip away our right to keep and bear arms in pursuit of their progressive agenda.
Because of the service and sacrifices of our country’s strong military, we have the privilege to live in a free nation. Freedom, however, is not guaranteed from one generation to the next – which is why Congress must use its authority as outlined in the U.S. Constitution to support our armed forces.
I am honored to serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. It is vitally important that the Big First has representation on the House Agriculture and House Transportation and Infrastructure committees. The Big First has 83,000 miles of road, seven commercial airports, and more than 4,000 miles of railroad track. We rely on this system to get to work, take our kids to school, and deliver food, fuel, and fiber to the rest of the world.
Small businesses help drive the American economy and define the American dream. They add brick and mortar to the values that make our country unique—freedom, self-determination, and the pursuit of happiness. As a child, I learned firsthand the responsibility, drive, and decision-making it takes to operate a small business by watching my parents run our preconditioning feedlot and family farm.
