Small businesses help drive the American economy and define the American dream. They add brick and mortar to the values that make our country unique—freedom, self-determination, and the pursuit of happiness. As a child, I learned firsthand the responsibility, drive, and decision-making it takes to operate a small business by watching my parents run our preconditioning feedlot and family farm.
The Big First is home to more than 20,000 small businesses and more than 80% of employees in our district work for one. These businesses are the backbone of our economy, creating jobs, strengthening communities, and keeping the American dream alive. I will always stand with Kansas small business owners, their employees, and the values they represent—cutting burdensome regulations, lowering taxes, and ensuring they have the tools to succeed.
