Rep. Mann Keeps Government Open, Supports U.S. National Security

March 11, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) voted to advance H.R. 1968, the Full Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025. The bill, which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 217-213, fully funds the federal government through September 30 while reducing then freezing spending for the next six months. Rep. Mann released the following statement after the vote.

“On November 5, 2024, 77 million Americans gave Washington, D.C. a mandate to implement President Trump’s agenda, cut wasteful, fraudulent, and abusive federal spending, and restore common sense to the nation’s capital,” said Rep. Mann. “As President Trump works tirelessly to clean up the mess left behind by the Biden-Harris Administration, we cannot let a theatrical government shutdown distract from the implementation of his agenda. The funding passed by the House secures the nation’s borders, supports America’s veterans, gives our military the flexibility they need to effectively protect our homeland, and ensures President Trump can continue advancing the commonsense policies Americans elected him to restore, all without a single earmark or pork project that forces Kansans to pay for local initiatives they’ll never see. I am hopeful the Senate will act swiftly to keep the government open and continue to urge Congress to return to regular order and pass 12 individual appropriations bills to get our fiscal house back on track.”

The Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025 will now go to the U.S. Senate for further consideration.
