Rep. Tracey Mann's Statement on Voting Against the Short-Term Continuing Resolution
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) released the following statement regarding his vote against a short-term continuing resolution to extend government funding until December 16, today in the U.S. House of Representatives: "This is the fifth time that this Congress has passed a short-term funding bill, channeling billions of dollars to band-aid the Biden Administration’s failed policies. At a time when inflation is skyrocketing, the supply chain is still struggling to recover, and the livelihoods of Americans are at risk, Washington Democrats chose to push through a stop-gap funding bill rather than having a meaningful debate on our nation’s finances and passing a comprehensive, fiscally responsible budget. There are better ways to solve most problems than simply throwing money at them. Congress must work to produce a fiscal year 2023 budget that provides certainty for Americans, cuts wasteful spending, and puts America on a path towards fiscal sustainability."
