Rep. Tracey Mann's Statement on FY22 Appropriations Minibus Package

July 28, 2021

Rep. Tracey Mann released the following statement regarding the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Legislative Branch, State and Foreign Operations, and Commerce, Justice, and ScienceAppropriations bills.

Today, House Democrats have once again put politics over policy, as they attempt to push three appropriations bills through Congress at the last minute, without proper consideration. These partisan, overreaching bills not only violate the constitutional rights of Americans, but also include unprecedented and irresponsible federal spending increases.

These bills tear down the Hyde and Helms Amendments which protect taxpayer dollars from funding abortions, weaken bipartisan laws protecting 2nd Amendment rights, defund our national defense, and call for a combined spending increase of nearly 40 percent from last fiscal year.

The American people deserve better than this. We are the stewards of the trust they’ve put in Congress to craft bipartisan, constitutional legislation – and if we pass these bills, we are failing them. Therefore, I oppose this progressive minibus package, and I will fight for legislation that benefits the American people, not politicians."
