Rep. Mann Votes to Support Israel, Condemn Hamas

November 2, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) voted yes on H.R. 6126, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, bolstering Israel’s defensive capabilities against Hamas and other terrorist groups. Rep. Mann released the following statement after the vote.

“America must continue to support Israel, condemn all attacks on Israel’s sovereignty, and hold the Biden Administration accountable for its continued deals with those who support Hamas and other terrorist groups,” said Rep. Mann. “Israel is America’s strongest ally in the Middle East and the region’s only functioning democracy. We must not sit idly by while our ally suffers brutal attacks from terrorists who want to wipe them off the face of the earth. America’s national security depends, in part, on a free and secure Israel. With this piece of legislation, House Republicans are advancing a comprehensive response to the unthinkable evil carried about by Hamas against Israel and strengthening our own national security in the process.”

H.R. 6126, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 226-196, and would:

  • Ensure American military readiness by replenishing domestic defense stockpiles
  • Bolster Israel’s defensive capabilities and stockpiles of munitions
  • Support U.S. personnel and citizens with enhanced security presence at the U.S. Embassy and logistical support for the evacuation of US citizens
  • Require that the Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State report to Congress on U.S. security assistance to Israel, to ensure accountability

The funding for H.R. 6126 is offset by recessions from the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, specifically from funding that would have weaponized the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) against Americans.

Yesterday, Rep. Mann also voted yes on:

  • H. Res. 559, a resolution declaring that a nuclear Iran is unacceptable, passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 354-53
  • H. Res. 599, a resolution urging the European Union to designate Hizballah as a terrorist organization, passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a voice vote
  • H.R. 3266, the Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act, which would require the U.S. Department of State to review the curriculum used by the Palestinian Authority, passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a voice vote
  • H.R. 340, the Hamas International Financing Prevention Act, which would impose sanctions on foreign supporters of terrorist organizations like Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 363-46
