Rep. Mann Votes to Strengthen American Aviation

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) voted yes on H.R. 3935, the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act, which would reauthorize Federal Aviation Administration programs for the next five years.
“I am proud to have voted for this historic piece of legislation that ensures America remains the global leader in aviation,” said Rep. Mann. “To maintain the American gold standard of aviation, we need to invest in airport infrastructure, address workforce challenges, encourage the development of new and emerging technologies, improve the passenger experience, and raise the bar for safety.
Kansas has a rich history in the aviation industry that predates World War II. Our state has a significant number of general aviation airports, which support our communities through business, recreational, cargo, and trade operations. Our state has seven commercial airports and five essential air service airports. Kansas also has a large footprint in the aerospace industry, which has a significant economic impact. I am pleased to see that several of my priorities were included in this bill, guaranteeing the continuation of our state’s successful aviation power.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization legislation will:
- Provide long-term stability across the Nation’s aviation system.
- Restructure the FAA to improve efficiency, streamline regulations, and promote innovation.
- Strengthen America’s general aviation community.
- Grow the aviation workforce.
- Make smart and targeted investments in airport infrastructure.
- Ensure that America remains the world’s gold standard in aviation safety.
- Foster the development and the safe, efficient integration of new aviation entrants into the airspace.
- Improve the passenger flight experience.
- Authorize and improve the National Transportation Safety Board.
- Provide funding for the Essential Air Service Program to support aviation in our rural communities.
“This bill is vital to both Kansas and the United States. The passage of this legislation continues the certainty for our Nation’s airport infrastructure, economy, and the future of American leadership in global aviation and innovation. I am proud to serve on the Aviation Subcommittee of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and I look forward to continuing our work to serve the Big First.”
