Rep. Mann Votes to Restore American Energy Independence

February 10, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) voted to advance H.R. 26, the Protecting American Energy Production Act. The bill, which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 226-188, prohibits any federal moratorium on the use of hydraulic fracturing. The bill also stops future presidents from banning fracking without the consent of Congress. Rep. Mann released the following statement after the vote.

"America needs a robust energy strategy that prioritizes renewable energy, fossil fuels, natural gas, and oil, not Green New Deal policies that pick and choose winners and losers for the sake of pleasing a radical base,” said Rep. Mann. “I voted for the Protecting American Energy Production Act to promote America's energy independence and defend our energy supply from federal overregulation. When energy costs are handcuffing American families, we need to provide solutions, not more anti-fossil fuel policies that weaken our energy self-reliance and U.S. national security. ”

H.R. 26 will now go the U.S. Senate for further consideration.
