Rep. Mann Votes for Passage of 2026 Farm Bill

April 30, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01), Chairman of the Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Subcommittee, voted to pass H.R. 7567, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 in the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation, which passed by a vote of 224-200, authorizes vital farm programs across all 12 titles for the next five years. Rep. Mann released the following statement after the vote.

“Passing the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 is a win for the American farmer, rancher, and consumer,” said Rep. Mann. “Under Chairman Thompson’s strong leadership, we secured a Farm Bill that provides stability and certainty for agriculture while strengthening rural communities and keeping America’s food supply secure. This legislation follows years of bipartisan work and listening sessions around the country, hearing from producers like those in the Big First about the challenges they face every day. It builds on the foundation we laid in the Working Families Tax Cuts and finishes the job by reauthorizing key farm bill programs, expanding market access, improving access to credit, and investing in rural infrastructure like broadband, health care, and water systems. I am especially proud that this bill includes my legislation to permanently move the Kansas-born Food for Peace program to USDA, its rightful home, ensuring American-grown commodities remain the focus of the program and increasing accountability of taxpayer dollars. This is a commonsense bill that supports our farmers and ranchers who feed, fuel, and clothe the world and helps ensure American agriculture remains the greatest in the world."

The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026:

  • Builds on the historic agricultural investments included in the Working Families Tax Cuts
  • Completes overdue reauthorization of key farm bill programs across conservation, rural development, research, trade, energy, and specialty crops
  • Permanently moves Food for Peace to USDA, prioritizing American-grown commodities and cutting unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Expands market access for U.S. agriculture by strengthening export promotion programs and reducing trade barriers
  • Improves access to credit for farmers and ranchers while supporting young and beginning producers
  • Invests in rural communities through stronger broadband, rural health care access, water infrastructure, and workforce development
  • Promotes precision agriculture, research, and innovation to keep American producers competitive
  • Supports voluntary, locally led conservation programs that protect working lands without adding unnecessary regulations

During debate for the legislation, Rep. Mann shared the farm economy's need for the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, which delivers the certainty farmers and ranchers depend on, strengthens national security, and invests in rural America.
