Washington, D.C. - This week, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) voted yes on H.R. 382, the Pandemic is Over Act, H.R. 497, the Freedom for Health Care Workers Act, H.J. Res. 7, relating to the national emergency, and H.R. 139, Stopping Home Office Work’s Unproductive Problems (SHOW UP) Act.
“The pandemic is over and this legislation makes that clear,” said Rep. Mann. “Americans are moving forward, and we won’t stand for any more executive overreach in the name of the pandemic. President Biden said it himself back in September – the pandemic is over. If he truly believes that, then we must end the national emergency, stop forcing health care workers to take COVID-19 vaccines and get federal employees back to in-person work. Washington Democrats politicized COVID, which divided our country and hurt our economy. All that ends today.” H.R. 382, the Pandemic is Over Act would terminate the COVID-19 National Emergency that was declared on January 31, 2020. It passed in the U.S. House of Representatives with a 220 -210 vote. H.R. 497 would eliminate this one-size-fits-all federal vaccine mandate and instead allow hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care providers to safely staff their facilities without extra government hurdles. It passed in the U.S. House of Representatives with a227 - 203vote. H.J. Res. 7 would terminate the national emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic issued on March 13, 2020. It passed in the U.S. House of Representatives with a 229 - 197vote. H.R. 139 would prevent the Biden Administration from locking in higher levels of pandemic-era telework for federal agency employees until it submits to Congress plans that will avoid the adverse effects that long-term remote work has on customer service and network security. It passed in the U.S. House of Representatives with a 221 - 206vote. ### |
