Rep. Mann introduces the More Accountability is Necessary Now (MANN) Acts

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representative Tracey Mann (R-KS) introduced H.R. 713-718, the More Accountability is Necessary Now (MANN) Acts. The MANN Acts include six pieces of legislation promoting accountability and transparency in future executive orders made by the Executive Branch. The MANN Acts require the Executive Branch to notify the American public and congress with its intent to issue any new, or revoke any existing executive orders in six key areas. The MANN Acts also require the notification to include a comprehensive list of organizations, businesses, and other parties or entities the executive branch engaged with about the executive order prior to its establishment.  

“In his first 10 days as President, Biden issued 25 executive orders – more than the last 7 presidents combined during their first 10 days,” said Rep. Mann. “His message speaks of unity and bipartisanship, but his governing is quite different. Congress was created to legislate and governing by executive order is not legislating. That is why today I am introducing H.R. 713-718, the More Accountability is Necessary Now (MANN) Acts – six pieces of legislation promoting accountability and transparency. We must hold our government accountable. I did not run for Congress to be a caretaker of the slow demise of our great nation – I ran for Congress to make America stronger, make government transparent, and to hold our leaders accountable. We must get to work now to ensure our brightest days are yet to come.”

The MANN Acts will:

• Require the executive branch notify Congress with its intent to issue any new, or revoke any existing, executive order pertaining to:
  • Agriculture, Food, and the Livelihood of American Farmers, Ranchers, and Producers
  • Energy
  • America’s Natural Resources and the Environment
  • Pro-life Provisions Including the Hyde Amendment and the Right to Life
  • The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution
  • Immigration into the United States
