Congressman Mann works to protect veterans against fraud

Congressman Tracey Mann updated the Dodge City Globe on his activities in Congress this session. He voted in favor of the Veterans Fraud Reimbursement Act which ensures veterans who have been defrauded veterans benefits by scammers are fully paid back in a timely manner and the perpetrators of fraud are pursued, prosecuted and held accountable for their crimes.
Mann defended President Donald Trump’s tariff policy.
“Other countries, especially China, have been taking advantage of the United States for a long time and Trump is finally doing something about it,” he said. “We currently have an unfair playing field. We are trying to renegotiate deals that are better in the long term.”
As for the effect on agriculture, Mann said, “All the farmers I talk to want a fair playing field, and that is what the administration’s trade policy is trying to deliver.”
Looking ahead, Mann plans to vote for the Reconciliation Bill being debated in Congress.
“The passage of the Reconciliation Bill will help secure the southern border, return America to energy dominance, rein in and decrease wasteful spending, and prevent tax hikes in 2026. If Congress doesn’t pass this bill, the tax cuts of 2017 will expire in December, causing income, capital gains, dividend income, corporate and estate taxes to increase. I feel very strongly we should not raise taxes and I am working hard to make sure the Reconciliation Bill passes so we can fulfill the promises Trump ran on in 2024.”
The congressman defended Trump’s idea of holding a military parade in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the U.S. Army turning 250 on June 14 saying the estimated $45 million event would be paid for by the Pentagon which has a fund for military ceremonial events such as flyovers, parades and other patriotic events, so would not come at the expense of other federal services such as veterans benefits.
