Rep. Mann Selected to Serve on House Agriculture Subcommittees

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) was selected to serve on the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development and the Subcommittee on Nutrition, Foreign Agriculture, and Horticulture. Earlier this month, Rep. Mann was tapped to serve as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry. “I serve in Congress to advocate for agriculture and our conservative Kansas values,” said Rep. Mann. “I am honored to serve on these subcommittees as we work to craft sound, fiscally responsible farm and food policy. The House Agriculture Committee and the farm bill it reauthorizes every five years legislate on everything from insuring crops and retaining folks in rural America to feeding kids and families, ensuring American producers have a market for their surplus product, and forging new trade partnerships. Farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers in rural America are the lifeblood of this country, and I am proud to represent the Big First on these subcommittees.” The jurisdiction of the Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development includes: policies, statutes, and markets relating to commodity exchanges; rural development; and energy. The jurisdiction of the Subcommittee on Nutrition, Foreign Agriculture, and Horticulture includes: policies, statutes, and markets relating to horticulture; marketing and promotion orders; nutrition and domestic commodity distribution; and foreign agricultural assistance and trade promotion. On January 17, Rep. Mann was appointed to the House Agriculture Committee. On February 2, Rep. Mann was selected to serve as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry.
